Hudson Yards is reopening The Vessel this week with a renewed focus on suicide prevention following a rash of incidents last year. The Vessel was closed in January after three people took their lives inside the 150-foot sculpture over a period of 15 months. Harm-reduction trainings have been added along with a number of other security precautions including a ban on solo entry, signs promoting suicide prevention.

WAA (we architects anonymous) has transformed a 1970’s warehouse complex in the north of Beijing into ‘the playscape’, an experiential community center for children. the building complex is formed by a cluster of existing warehouses encircling a courtyard, while an aerial bridge links the south facility, which is disconnected from the complex by the public street, to the rest of the roof terraces.

When it comes to running a practice, it can be easy to get lost in the daily grind. There are deadlines to meet, meetings to be held and bills to pay. An endless cycle that repeats itself each week. Naturally, this cycle can cause us to lose track of the big picture.
